Ahornboden Alpenpark KarwendelAlong the Eagle Walk

Through the „Nature Park Karwendel”

The Eagle represents the wings of freedom and independence, power and wisdom, and soars with grandeur and dignity over Tyrol’s glorious mountain scenery.
Valleys which appear ceaseless, steeply gradient rock face, mere inapproachable, grey gleaming peaks.
In between classic Alpine Club Huts and ethnic, ancient Mountain pastures in green grasslands. The “Große Gebirg” (big mountains) – as the legendary Karwendel area is called as well – shows off with its attractions like no other mountain range in Tyrol.

Starting from Maurach at the Lake Achensee, which is the biggest lake of the whole country and also named “Tyroleans’ ocean”, most of the tour leads you through the Karwendel Mountains to the border town Scharnitz. As a mellow extra to finish off the tour a pleasure walk above Innsbruck along the “Stone Pine Walk” is waiting for you.
