Unterwegs zum Achensee , vom InnRad Weg zur Via Bavarica Tyrolensis
On the way to Lake Achensee
From the InnBikePath to the “Via Bavarica Tyrolensis”

Right at the beginning of the journey you will explore some stunning sights and attractions of Innsbruck: the Golden Roof, the Imperial Court Church (also called „Schwarzmanderkirche“, which has originally been built as a tomb for Emperor Maximilian I., although he is not buried there), Castle Ambras or the alpine zoo, to mentioned just a few.

The bike-tour leads through the wild and romantic Tyrolean Upper Inn Valley, bounded by majestic mountain peaks; furthermore, the tour follows the opening and getting softer Lower Inn Valley.

Finally you arrive at the Achensee, where you can go on with the tour alongside the shore of the picturesque lake, which is situated in-between impressive mountains – similar to a fjord – shimmering in a Caribbean turquoise.
Don’t miss a trip from Jenbach to the lakeside with the nostalgic Achensee-tram; it is the oldest rack railway in Europe, solely run by steam.
